In accordance with the Urban Water Management Planning Act, the City of Pleasanton (City) has prepared its 2015 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP). This plan is updated every five years to ensure that adequate water supplies are available to meet existing and future water demand. The City encourages public participation in the preparation of this document.
The 2015 UWMP reports, describes, and evaluates the City’s water deliveries and uses, water supply sources, efficient water uses, and water conservation measures. It also incorporates the City’s plan to achieve a reduction in potable water consumption by 20% by 2020 in accordance with the Water Conservation Act of 2009, and the City’s Water Shortage Contingency Plan.
A public review draft of the 2015 UWMP is available on the City’s website at www.cityofpleasantonca.gov. Hardcopy drafts are also available at the City Clerk’s office at 123 Main Street, Pleasanton, during normal business hours, and at the Pleasanton Library.
City Council will conduct a public hearing at its regularly scheduled meeting on June 7, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. to provide an opportunity for public comment on the draft. Additionally, Council will consider the adoption of the 2015 UWMP following the public hearing at the June 7, 2015 meeting.
The public is encouraged to attend this meeting and to send questions or comments regarding the draft 2015 UWMP to Rita Di Candia at rdicandia@cityofpleasantonca.gov or 925-931-5513. The public review comment period will end on June 7, 2016 following the close of the public hearing
